What Could Derail Gold, When, How Long, and How Bad?

Kitco’s David Lin picked up on my article outlining a bear case against gold, and had a bunch of questions. He knows better than to try to pin me down on a big bold prediction, but he wanted to know what would cause a monetary metals bear. He asked when it might happen, how severe it might be (how low prices could go), and what I thought the odds of such a turn of events might be. But his best question was why I’m thinking about this at all, as I’m still bullish on gold and silver prices.

The importance of thinking about warning signs to look for so we don’t get blindsided can’t be overstated.

This is my take.
